Seattle Central Wood Technology Center 57,000sf replacement is an academic and industry facility focusing on wood technology and trades.  Meeting LEED building standards, the program includes core training in basic construction, wood framing, cabinet and boat design and building.  In addition to four shops, the facility includes: a library, a tiered lecture hall, classrooms, student services, collaborative and informal support spaces most notably at the two-story entrance lobby and gallery atrium.

After receiving her M.Arch in 2007 from the University of Washington, Koosmann took a position at Schreiber Starling & Lane Architects.  As an architectural designer, she worked directly with the project architect and client on all phases of design and construction administration on Wood Tech, during five years at SSLA. - Photos Courtesy of SSLA.
