The
Pagka-pinay series is Koosmann's visual story as a foreigner living and working abroad for nearly two years in the Philippines (2012-14). The
term
pagka-pinay means "being Filipino". The series has been exhibited in galleries around the Philippines, including Eve Ensler's
The Vagina Monologues V-day event and art exhibit entitled,
Herstory, on February 14, 2014. The all women group show collectively raises awareness about violence against women and children.
The
Pagka-pinay series was also part of the
ARTWalk: Art for a Cause fundraiser for Estudio Damgo in Dumaguete City, Philippines (November 14, 2013). Koosmann's version for Hersley-Ven Casero's House Project was sold during the
ARTWalk to patrons in Manila. Other versions are sold to a local patron in Dumaguete City.
