Ballard, Washington
Rover 1 is a mobile hygiene station designed and built for Seattle's temporary car encampments. and conceived through a partnership between Tilt Community Design Build and Ballard Homes For all Coalition (BHFAC). The station includes an enclosed shower and dressing area built atop a pull-behind trailer. Made of translucent poly carbonate panels, the walls permit natural light during the day and serve as a way-finding device at night by light fixtures installed between panels. The prototype was debuted at the Sustainable Ballard Fair in September 2008. - Photo Courtesy of the Seattle Times.
